Great Screen Quality: The color screen and visual display really enhances user experience. The manufacturer claims that the rechargeable battery can last up to two weeks. I think the Texas Instruments-Nspire CX II CAS is a big step-up in speed (up to 3x faster processing speed than the original) so you can stay in a flow state during your exams. Slow processing speeds can totally kill my thinking and flow in the middle of a complex calculation. Some older models (including this one’s predecessor) calculate too slowly when you throw complex Polynomials at them. The other thing I love about this one is the speed. It’s so easy and comfortable to use that I choose this model as the best graphing calculator for engineers and engineering students.” Prof Chris Says: “I’ve been impressed by the speed and user experience of the second generation TI-Nspire. Run time between charges is up to 2 weeks. I also love the color display quality and resolution. That’s so important to me when it’s crunch time during exams. I just don't like the UI of the nspire because I always feel like I'm having to search through menus to find what I need vs the 36X Pro where nearly everything, including integrals and probabilities are right on the keypad.Best Graphing Calculators for Engineers to Buyġ. I kind of wish the functionality that I need from the nspire was in the TI84, because that was my main calculator for years until someone showed me what the nspire can do. I don't use most of the features of the nspire, but the things I do use it for are indispensable. A 36X pro with a graphic calculator size screen would probably allow me to use it for everything. And that's mostly due to the smaller size of the screen. To be honest, the 36X pro is my goto calculator for everything until I get to really big equations that are easier to work with on the nspire or solving systems of equations or complex calculus stuff. It has a lot of functions that I've needed right on the keypad vs the nspire where things end up buried in menus. I find it a lot easier to use for certain calculations than the nspire.
